About the Frames
Only the very best materials are used to make your diploma frame
Mouldings – Our mouldings company, Larson Juhl, is nationally recognized for quality and their materials do not come from any endangered species. They actively participate in Re-leaf projects to re-plant trees to replace those harvested in the manufacturing of picture frame mouldings. Our frames are art quality wood frames sold in fine custom frame shops across the U.S.
Glass alternative – All frames are made with Optix acrylic glazing instead of glass. This is a safer material that filters more of the harmful UV rays that can damage your diploma. Optix acrylic filers 80% of these harmful rays. We also carry an upgraded OP3 acrylic that filters 97% of UV rays. Additionally, acrylic is lighter weight and more resistant to breakage, hence a better product for shipped items. Lastly, Optix acrylic is made in the U.S.A.
Mats – All mats are acid free and meet the Library of Congress standards, an important feature for the preservation of your diploma.
Foil Embossing – All embossing, also called “foil stamping,” is done in-house using a magnesium die.
Document Preservation
The quality of the materials used in the frame can greatly affect both the aesthetics and longevity of your hard-earned diploma. We pride ourselves in providing you with a quality custom product. Our products are true conservation quality, and meet Library of Congress standards for document preservation. Our backing board is an inert foam core product that will not harm your diploma. All mats are acid free and the acrylic used filters 80% of harmful UV rays. We provide acid free hinging material for easy insertion and fastening of the diploma. Instructions for this procedure are included with each frame. You need not send us your diploma.
